It is also an entrepreneurial endeavor — for those who finish the Traditional African Braider’s Academy who are skilled enough can now make sure that they can braid other people’s hair. This helps with identity, self-esteem in school, as well as bring in income for those who are talented enough to expand into their own entrepreneurial braiding pursuits.
